I am a designer and artist based in Loughborough, where I have lived and worked for almost ten years. I originally trained as an industrial designer for five years, and prior to this I worked as an author and illustrator between 1994 and 1998.

I paint primarily in oils on canvas and I have been undertaking commissions since 2004. These have included portraits, the human figure, animals and landscapes.

The biggest influences in my paintings are Matisse, Hodgkin and Hockney. The human figure, light and how they interact are a constant theme throughout my work.
